Dr. Hajar Hasan-Verrett is originally from the DC/Maryland area where at an early age she developed a passion for serving others in her community. Through her interest in art, she developed strong artistic and hands-on skills through painting and jewelry making.

 

In 1999, Dr. Verrett was accepted to the Xavier University of LA where after a 4-year study she obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology. During her time in college, she was proud to take part in various enriching experiences, which included her travels to The Gambia, West Africa, where she worked at a rural clinic for 3 months assisting Doctors and nurses with administering healthcare to the community. Other experiences included conducting community outreach programs for New Orleans youth and being president of the African American studies club.

In 2003, she was honored to be accepted to the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC. After 4 years of clinical training and service to the public, she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. In 2007, she relocated to South Florida and attended a 1-year residency program at NOVA Southeastern University in Davie, FL. It was there that she worked under the tutelage of various Dentists from around the world, advancing her knowledge and skill of complex cases in dentistry. After a few years of working at various dental offices, she and her husband decided to open the Verrett Dental Center in 2010. Since the grand opening, Dr. Verrett has taken pride and joy in servicing the dental needs of Miami Dade and surrounding communities. Through her journey, she has received various awards for outstanding community service, and recently, she was selected as Miami’s top 40 under 40 influencers.

Dr. Verrett has a mission to bring out the smile in every patient that she meets through her warm and caring personality with the most up to date technology.
